A long-term research project was established at the LIHREC in 2001. The objective of the project is to conduct research in commercial vegetable production practices within an organic framework. To this end, a two-acre block of land has been set aside which will be maintained by organic production guidelines. The goals of this project were to assess the soil to develop base line data, manage perennial weeds, tour organic production areas and develop a long-term plan of action for the organic block. From Cornell University.
